Recreational / Athletic Facilities

Jones-Stuckey has an extensive history of providing engineering services for recreational and athletic fields and facilities. Our goal is always to create a pleasant recreational experience. From bikeways, roads and bridges to large athletic complexes, our engineers have long understood the importance of designing recreational spaces which are both usable and safe while emphasizing aesthetics. Our bridges and roadways often incorporate materials found in nature, such as wood and stone. Site work, such as underground utilities, sewers and lighting, is designed to be functional yet unobtrusive.

We have worked on recreational/athletic facilities at The Ohio State University for more than 40 years. Our projects have ranged from the design of intramural athletic fields to the design of site utilities and drainage for major athletic facilities,  to monitoring the structural stability of temporary stadium seating. We have designed roadways and bridges for parklands and golf courses, as well as special-use structures such as boat ramps. Additionally, we have designed several miles of multi-use trails throughout the Columbus and Westerville Park systems, including a unique solution which relocated  an historic iron truss bridge for use on a bikeway.
